What is a Stun List?

STUN Lists are a form of writing invented by Planet of the Grapes in the late 1990s. A prominent professor of literature has gone on record saying, "STUN Lists may very well be the next haikus."

Like haikus or zen koans ("if a tree falls in the forest..."), STUN Lists can only truly be understood by reading and experiencing them. Structurally, STUNs contain a title, twelve entries, and a signature. A given entry may utilize a variety of devices, delivering short bits of poetic prose, dialogue, word play, and most often just a rambling, detached narrative voice to achieve bizarre, abstract, and in some cases even hallucinogenic effects. The eighth entry can never be numbered "8," the tenth entry must contain a brief (usually two-word) idea, and the twelfth entry must mention failure in some way, insuring the author will be compelled to write future STUN Lists.
